In 1995, Three Sisters Vineyards became the first winery in Dahlonega. At the time, North Georgia wine was still more of an idea than an industry. My husband, Doug Paul, believed in this land. He believed these hills could grow exceptional grapes, and he believed people were looking for a peaceful place to gather, slow down, and enjoy a glass of wine without pressure or pretense.
Doug passed away nine years ago, but his vision never left this vineyard.
Today, I am proud to carry that vision forward alongside my brother Ken, our winemaker Hezzie, and Leah, who many of you know from the tasting room. We are still family owned. We are still farmers first. And we are still deeply rooted in the Dahlonega Plateau, a region that has grown tremendously since those early days.
Three Sisters helped pave the way for what is now the Dahlonega Plateau AVA. What began as one winery has become many. We are proud of that growth because it means this region is thriving. But it also means the landscape is different than it was in 1995.
As we enter this next chapter, we are thoughtfully modernizing while staying true to who we are.
The launch of our new website is one of those steps forward. It allows us to better tell our story, showcase our wines with detailed descriptions and images, and provide clearer information for both longtime guests and those discovering us for the first time. It gives us a platform to share more about our vineyard practices, our history, and the people behind the wine.
For returning guests, it is a place to stay connected and learn more about what is happening here on the property. For new visitors, it is an invitation and a glimpse into what makes Three Sisters distinct.
What sets us apart has never been flash or scale. It is authenticity.
When you visit, you see the vineyard being worked. You see farmers tending the vines. You meet the owners in the tasting room. There is no high pressure sales environment here. We want you to feel welcome, comfortable, and relaxed, like you have stepped into a place that feels familiar.
At the same time, we recognize how people live and work today. Some guests come to fully unplug. Others may want to sit with a glass of wine and answer a few emails while overlooking the mountains. We have improved our WiFi and infrastructure to support both. Whether you want to disconnect or stay connected long enough to share a photo of the vineyard, the choice is yours.
Three Sisters remains a getaway with options.
As we look toward the future, we are committed to using thoughtful tools like this new website to keep Three Sisters relevant and accessible. It helps us share information clearly, present our wines in greater detail, and reach those who have not yet found us. But no matter how we evolve, the foundation remains the same.
Doug’s dream was simple. Create a place where people could gather, enjoy good wine, and feel at home.
That is still our mission.
We are grateful for everyone who has supported us over the years and for those just beginning to discover us. This next chapter is built on legacy, family, and a continued commitment to authenticity.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Sharon Paul
